Story of BushTax.com
With this site our intention is to restore and build upon the old bushtax.com.
The old bushtax.com was full of interesting material on the effects of President Bush's tax cuts at the time they were first proposed and set into law. The site was created by the DEAN FOR AMERICA 2004 organization. As the time passed and 2006 set in, the site was left to disappear from the Internet scene.
Then President Bush called to make the tax cuts permanent. And we felt that it would be a pity to lose such a resource that bushtax.com had become.
The information on the old site was very detailed about the influence--never mentioned by the Bush Administration--that the tax cuts would have on our communities, national debt, and Social Security. Now, years later, it suddenly became a perfect reference material to see where the tax cut in effect has taken us.
Fortunately, archive.org has made a copy of the old site.
But archives are archives--they lack interactivity and they don't grow. We want this site to grow, and people to share their thoughts on Bush's tax cuts.
So, on the they when President Bush appealed to the nation in his weekly radio address to make the tax cuts permanent, we wrote a letter to Gov. Dean to request his permission to restore the original site.
Let's see what happens...
